Our Research

Working as a community of practice, the Collaborative seeks to effect change by building the evidence base for national health systems change. Under the auspices of the Collaborative, investigators, in collaboration with healthcare delivery systems, are analysing large encounter data sets to assess the impact of provider interventions not only on reductions in tobacco us, but also the impact on patient health and costs of cessation benefits and tobacco intervention data sets.

The Collaborative's consulting senior scientist, Thomas Land, PhD, lead author of the Massachusetts Mass Health Cessation Benefit studies, is also available to guide state tobacco control programs and their Medicaid agencies to analyze their claims data to assess the impact of tobacco cessation benefit use on smoking prevalence and member health.
